For Halloween this year, we had an Elsa and a Minnie Mouse. It was the first time experiencing Halloween in our new neighborhood. We went to the neighborhood costume parade and then made our way over to an extremely scary house. Papa and Gigi came with us and helped trick or treating and passing out candy. This Halloween was really fun because it was the first time both girls really got it. They said "trick or treat" and "thank you!" at every house.
For 2016, we had Woody and a flamingo.
In 2015, Keira was a flamingo. Skyler stayed home with Papa and passed out candy.
2014, Keira was Supergirl
Richard brought Fairway and Caddy home on September 8th, 2012 and on October 28th, 2017 we had to make one of the toughest decisions we've had to make. That was to put our Fairway to sleep. He bad a bladder infection and crystals in his urinary tract (common with male cats) and they wouldn't clear. We knew we couldn't be selfish and we couldn't let him suffer. How we wish it could have been different.
Fairway was a one of a kind cat. He was so friendly and so funny. We didn't do anything special, that was just his personality. He never met a stranger. He was interested in everything. He thought everything was his (#thatsnotyoursFairway). He loved to snuggle and take up the entire bed and hog all the covers. Sometimes, he slept on my pillow. He greeted us at the door when we got home. He was always eating. He jumped in any willing lap for pets and snuggles. He headbutted and gave "love nips". He was at the door when we brought both girls home. He slept on/in everything- even when he didn't fit. He came up every night to help us go the girls nightly routine. He made us laugh.
My heart hurts for the whys and the what ifs? It's hard to see Caddy, I know she feels lost without him. They have never known a life without the other. We forever miss our best buddy.
We love you, Fert McGurt.
