8 weeks

Dad and I went to our first appointment on January 17th. I thought I was about six weeks pregnant, turns out I was 8 weeks and 3 days making your due date August 26th! The ultra sound tech couldn't find you at first through the belly so she had to use the "other" ultra sound and you popped right up on the screen. It's hard to describe the feeling of first seeing you. Mostly awe, excitement, nervousness, and wonder. You are the first baby I've ever seen on the ultrasound monitor. She showed us your tiny little heart beating and said it was at 178 beats per minute. You moved ever so slightly, and it was so exciting to see! The nurse practitioner gave us a bunch of information and some medicine for my (intense) nausea. They also took 5 tubes of blood which made Mama almost pass out.

Daddy, uncle Tommy, and Grandpa Bill have already been working on your room! We decided to go gray for the walls with a blue and white stripped accent wall. If you are a little man it will be accented with green and if you are a little lady it will be pink!

12 weeks

We got to see you again on February 14th, our little Valentine. The tech needed to get a good measurement of your neck, but you were not in a good position. She told me to cough, and she shook my belly a lot to get you to move around. It look awhile, but Dad and I did not mind, we got to see you! You look a lot more human now. We got a good view of your profile, little hand and elbow. I think you were starting to put your fingers in your mouth! I have started to get a little pregnant belly, but I can still wear my regular clothes (with the help of a high tie around the button.) We were able to announce your arrival to the world this week! You already have lots of people who love you!
